Peacebuilding in Jammu and Kashmir (2014)
Dr. Mohini Giri wrote this short statement to be read out at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland on 17 September 2014. She makes eight brief points on conflict reconciliation and the involvement of women in peacebuilding in conflict-torn Jammu and Kashmir (northern India).
Dr. Giri is a leader in the women’s movement, human rights, gender justice and peace in India and South Asia. She is Chairperson of our partner the Guild of Service. The Guild of Service works to empower marginalized widows, women and children in India.
