What is Beijing +30? – #CSW69
In March, as the world gathers for the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York, we will also mark a pivotal milestone: 30 years since the groundbreaking Beijing Conference.
That moment in 1995 reshaped the global agenda for gender equality, inspiring generations and driving transformative change through the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action – a blueprint that still resonates today.
At CSW69, the world will take stock of the strides we’ve made and confront the ongoing challenges women face in the quest for equality.
Representatives from all over the world will meet in New York for the UN Commission on the Status of Women sixty-ninth session. The meeting will review and appraise the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action agreed at the World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995.
To honour this momentous occasion, HelpAge International is launching a special campaign to spotlight 30 women who attended and helped make history at the 1995 Beijing Conference, including WPD Founder and President: Margaret Owen OBE.
