Birthday request from our Founder & President, Margaret Owen, OBE, – 94 yrs old on 6th May 2026
“For my 94th birthday, I’m asking for donations to Widows for Peace through Democracy.
Our mission means a lot to me and I hope that you’ll consider contributing as a way of celebrating our lives.
Every little bit will help.With so many unresolved conflicts, there has never been such an increase in widows and half-widows of all ages – and so much suffering:
the stigma and demonisation of widows and half widows in so many conflict zones;
their vulnerability to sexual violence and exploitation as chattels exacerbated on these situations…Widows and half-widows are in desperate need of a collective voice to inform the international community and their governments of their rights for restorative justice, protection and reparations.
Please help us to ensure their voices are heard, to inform policies – national and international.
