Widows for Peace through Democracy (WPD) congratulates CEDAW, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, on releasing this hugely important General Recommendation (GR).

General recommendation No. 38 (2020) on trafficking in women and girls in the context of global migration.

Released in GENEVA on 11 November 2020, this new GR urges governments to address to the root causes that push women and girls into vulnerable situations, and recommends in detail what States should do to eliminate such trafficking.
